Last week, our team traveled to Atlanta for 2014's WebRTC Conference and Expo for three days of talks, presentations, and demonstrations from experts in the WebRTC ecosystem. We are proud to say that John Riordan, CTO of OnSIP, took home a WebRTC Pioneer award, an achievement that recognizes exceptional innovators in the young space.
At the OnSIP table, we chatted with attendees about the benefits of our signaling network for WebRTC developers and open source JavaScript library for WebRTC developers, SIP.js. We also demonstrated InstaCall, a WebRTC-based OnSIP feature that enables any business to add contextual-based video sales and support to their website in minutes.
OnSIP Lead Developer Will Mitchell participated in a panel entitled New Conferencing Options. "I really enjoyed being on the panel," said Will Mitchell. "Common web topics like identity and social networking came together with traditional telephony issues like mobile bandwidth and SIP versus IMS. And it was a great group of panelists, too - I was honored to be up there with folks from Dialogic, Browsetel, and Bistri."

John Riordan gave a talk in the session entitled Deploying WebRTC Successfully - The Big Issues, wherein he addressed the challenges involved when selecting a scalable signaling and media relay solution for a WebRTC application. He also participated in a panel, Using WebRTC to Deliver Enterprise Services, alongside Micaela Giuhat of BroadSoft and Chip Wilcox of Temasys.

Overall, our team was excited to see the advancements that have been made in this space since November 2013, when we last attended the WebRTC Conference and Expo in Santa Clara.
"It was great to see how many people are using SIP.js," said Software Engineer James Criscuolo. "Once we achieved internal success with SIP.js, we knew we had something to offer the rest of the community. Now it's rewarding to see that other developers are taking advantage of our open source project."
Collection of the WebRTC pioneers
The WebRTC Conference and Expo IV was the first of many WebRTC related conferences OnSIP plans to attend this summer. We're attending DevCon5, ClueCon, and ITEXPO in the coming months, so check back here for updates on our outings to these venues.
